Buying Pets Suited to the Hot Climate of Dubai
The city of gold, Dubai is well known for its tropical desert climate. The weather of the city is almost always hot with mildly cold winters and the average temperature in July and August spiking above 40 degrees C.
Man is very adaptable and can survive in extreme conditions. We can live in the snow covered mountains of Alaska and in the dreaded heat of deserts. Our bodies are very flexible. And even when it gets too hot, we seek help by taking a dip in the cold Beach of Dubai or drinking an icy beverage. Our survival is easy but what about the health of our beloved pets? Can they too survive the dreaded heat of Dubai?
Why All Types of Dog Breeds Cannot Survive in Dubai?
Actually, all dog breeds are not suited to survive in hot climates. They do not have the proper mechanisms designed to combat the heat. Imagine carrying a thick coat of fur, attached to your body in the summer heat! You’ll end up wanting to rip it apart or eat someone head off.
So do yourself and your Puppy a favor and only buy pets from Pet Shops that are suited to survive in your regions climate. If you have a puppy imported that belongs to a puppy breed suited to cold climates then he won’t be able to survive in Dubai. You’ll end up owning a very sick pet and making frequent and expensive trips to the Vet.
Which Puppy Breeds are Suited to Hot Climatic Conditions?
The factors that play a key role in judging whether a dog breed can survive in a hot climate is their coat and fur and their level of activity throughout the day. Some of the Dog Breeds that are well suited to hot climates are:
German Short Haired Pointer These are a multi-purpose breed of dogs, always bursting with energy. They love to play, jump, explore and even hunt. They also possess a water resistant coat that helps them regulate their temperature and fight the summer heat.
Chihuahuas These are a small and compact breed of dogs that can easily live in small places like an apartment. They are very sensitive to the cold and can survive easily in hot weather.
Beagles They are an extremely fun and energetic breed of dogs, very active and entertaining also with a small and compact appearance.
Golden Retrievers They are a popular choice among pet owners, with their luscious gold fur and friendly nature.
Goldador They are an extremely lovable and obedient breed of dogs, easy to train and very fun to have around. Although these dog breeds along with many others are well suited to adapt in hot climatic conditions, preventative measure should be taken to avoid any heat related problems with them as well; like heat strokes and dehydration. Keep them inside during the day, reduce their physical activity, keep them well hydrated, give them cold water baths and keep their exposure to the scorching to sun to an all time minimum.
